Read more PETG Filament Features & Benefits PETG filament is an extra tough & high strength 3D printing material, so can achieve very sturdy and strong prints. The low shrinkage feature make this perfect for larger flat surfaces. PETG is a perfect alternative to ABS and PLA, offering higher strength, lower shrinkage, and a smoother finish. When to use PETG filament Use for objects which might experience sustained or sudden stress, like mechanical parts, printer parts, and protective components. It's always used to make water bottles, food packaging, medical and food containers, electronic devices, credit or gift cards, store fixtures, and prosthetic devices. When not to use PETG filament PETG is not suitable for support structures because of its excellent adhesion. Removing support structures made with PETG is very difficult, but not impossible. There just don't seem to be any good metallic colors out there in PETG, and this is an excellent example of the disappointing attempts to get them. This isn't silver, it's grey. It's what you get if you sandblast aluminum or tumble it with rather coarse tumbling media. Silver would have approached the appearance of a mirror or at least a stainless-steel fork. This is fine for battleship parts, but not for anything that you want to shine. It prints OK. My biggest complaint is the spool. I use bearing on my filament stand and...well it does not work without a sleeve and even that doesn't work well.My overture order for 4 spools has been backordered for about a month and is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday however yesterday (sat) I received a large order that needed to be started ASAP. This was the only option available for same day delivery so I got 2 spools. It arrived around 8pm and I was printing by 8:30. It's 24 hours later and I'm through half of both spools and have zero issues. It's definitely more matte than overture but I can live with that. I printed at 260c onto an 85c bed with a .6mm vanadium nozzle.this filament is great hard for a beginnerInland makes good stuff. Never had a problem with any of their filaments.Prints are very clean, very repeatable. In my printer (heavily modified M3D Promega with an E3D Hemera extruder, and an Original Prusa MINI+) I have to print at higher heat than the filament might suggest (245C), but it is very dependable.Fantastic filament. Lays down like butter.Thisfirst time to use PETG. The print quality is good and once I got my temperatures set correctly the adhesion was sufficient.
