I was a little concerned about buying this because of all of the bad reviews. I can confirm that the bags do stay sealed overnight (see photos) and also it is “slightly” difficult to get the suction to start but not impossible. You just have to put the probe on the exact right spot on a flat surface and push down firmly over the valve (I know this may seem counterintuitive, but believe me it works), then start the pump and it magically sucks all the air out of the bag and then automatically stops once it’s done. I think some of the issues people are having with these bags is they are opening them violently cracking the seals in the corners. You have to be careful, they’re cheap plastic bags. Slowly open them and do not force them open on the ends, place your product inside the bag carefully and then seal it with your fingers, don’t use the included clips, they don’t work that great and you need to be able to feel the bag ceiling or not. If you have delicate fingers, ask someone for help in sealing them they have to be completely sealed and seated correctly. I’m not entirely sure of their reusability for 3D printing spools but time will tell. I believe you can also use these bags with food items you’re going to put in the freezer and I do believe they would greatly reduce frosting as the air will be sucked out of the bag, reducing humid air to cause frost. I do have a food vacuum machine that I use for food because you don’t need to reuse the bags but for 3-D printing these reusable bags should fit the bill. Don’t be scared about the negative reviews, just be careful when using the bags, they do work just fine. Another thing to know is that one side is perfectly clear and the other side is cloudy. I believe these are intentional pockets used to allow air to be sucked out, just note that the foggy side is a little hard to see through so you would want any labels that you need to see through to be on the side with the clear plastic. The pump is a little slow, but it gets the job done. I use lithium batteries in the pump without any problems, but I do remove the cover when I store the pump as devices with soft touch buttons like this one do siphon a little bit of energy when not in use; waiting for someone to push the touch button to start (not a mechanical switch) so I remove the battery cover when in storage. Another person on here said that their ham radio causes it to start pumping due to unwanted RF EMI (radio frequency electromagnetic interference) as I am a ham radio operator that is also a concern so I just leave the battery cover off for that reason too. I am glad I decided to ignore the negative reviews and give this a shot mostly due to the Amazon’s awesome return policy but this one paid off it works great. I ordered some extra bags from the same manufacturer and they also work great. I’ve sealed about 5 rolls of filament from bags from both shipments, and all of them are still sealed.
